Site Manager Petteri Liutu

Petteri Liutu appointed as Site Manager in Logent Turku

Petteri Liutu has started as the Site Manager at Logent’s Turku office. He brings over 20 years of experience in various logistics roles to Logent. Liutu began his position in March 2025.

An engineer in logistics with an MBA, Liutu has worked in diverse logistics roles throughout his career. Previously, he served as a logistics coordinator at Logistikas and as a logistics manager at Cablex Oy in Turku.

– I have been involved in many interesting projects since the early stages of my career. For example, at the Rauma shipyard, I coordinated shipyard logistics for a project that built a luxury ferry for the United Arab Emirates. It was a great and educational experience. And getting to know the shipyard environment is, of course, beneficial in my new role here at the Meyer shipyard in Turku.

Diverse operational tasks have provided a strong foundation for later work. Before joining Logent, his most recent role was as the logistics development manager at Ioncor’s battery factory in Salo.

– I consider my strengths to be in development vision, working with people, and active engagement. The collaboration between Logent and Meyer has deepened, and I believe my expertise perfectly aligns with the needs of both organizations. I believe my knowledge of continuous development processes and ways to advance matters will provide solutions to many challenges at Logent.

Development approach advances logistics

According to Liutu, logistics is a critical success factor in demanding environments, such as shipyards.

– In complex environments with many actors and multiple material flows, precise handling and the ability to manage the whole are needed.

In his most recent role, Liutu was involved in a development project that was awarded the LOGY Association’s Internal Logistics Award of the Year 2024. According to Liutu, the award was a great testament to what can be achieved through continuous development and effective collaboration. He sees development as a continuous process.

– In development work, prioritization and controlled progress are key. You have to proceed step by step. Development means concrete actions. Actions can also be small, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be significant improvements. The most important thing is continuous progress and completing projects, Liutu states.

Collaboration is the key to success

Having worked in the logistics field for a long time, Logent was already familiar to Liutu, and he had developed an interest in Logent’s way of operating. Now that the first weeks in the new role are behind him, Logent’s site in Turku has made a good first impression.

– There is a really good work team here that I get to join. I have started my new role with a very positive mindset. The interesting work environment and the opportunity to influence the entire unit’s operations attracted me to apply for the position, and many ideas for improving operations have already emerged.

For the first few months, Petteri aims to get to know the staff and help them succeed in their work, but also to build trust with the customer.

– I want to get to know Logent’s staff, integrate smoothly into the team, and help the staff succeed even better. In addition, customer collaboration and understanding the customer’s processes are priorities in the initial phase. To solve challenges and come up with new ideas, it is essential to develop sufficient knowledge and personal understanding in the multifaceted shipyard environment. Active collaboration with the customer advances logistics best.

As a supervisor, Liutu emphasizes the importance of collaboration and considering different perspectives.

– By working together, we achieve the best results. Everyone must be listened to, and the most effective solution must be found together, he emphasizes.

Petteri is motivated by developing things, solving challenges, and having the opportunity to make an impact.

– To maintain enthusiasm, we must ensure that we develop the right things and implement these developments in practice. When you see that things are progressing in the desired direction, it fuels further motivation, Liutu concludes.

We warmly welcome Logent!
